La Vierge en Majeste 3D printing
Vierge en Majesté
Replication of a statue representing the Vierge en Majesté

The demand started with a series of thefts of the same familly of statues in a church.

The Vierge en Majesté is the last original statue from the line of stolen sculptures. The Musée des Arts Anciens of Namur called upon our services to scan in 3D and replicate the work of art thanks to the 3D printing technique. This was done to keep the original piece in a safe place and expose the replica. The duplicate was painted by an artist gilder to look as much like the original as possible.

This project is once again a very nice example of the benefits of 3D printing in the protection and promotion of cultural heritage.
